Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC)

  • Architect: HOK
  • Role: Project Architect (Julia Contaldo when employed by HOK)
  • Project type: Infrastructure, Transportation
  • Size: 67,880 SF

While at HOK, Julia served as project architect for ARTIC, a regional transit hub that blends the civic grandeur of 19th-century rail stations with the scale and complexity of today’s airport terminals.

ARTIC supports transportation for over three million residents across 34 cities. The facility includes spaces for retail, restaurants, ticketing, and waiting areas, and is designed to function as a grand hall for community use. It is intended to anchor the Anaheim Rapid Connection (ARC), a high-capacity, fixed-guideway transit system. ARTIC will also serve as the southern terminus of the California High-Speed Rail, linking urban centers across the state.
