Lucas Museum of Narrative Art

  • Client: Martin Bros. Construction
  • Role: Lead Computational Designer – Roof Sequence D (work performed by Dan Edleson prior to joining WEFAS)
  • Project type: Museum
  • Total Program Cost: $1B

Our team provided design and digital coordination services for the façade of the Lucas Museum, a complex double-curved enclosure built to fabrication tolerances typical of automotive assembly. To achieve accuracy from off-site FRP fabrication through final installation, custom tertiary structural systems and workflows were developed. Grasshopper scripts enabled real-time BIM conversion, clash detection across two dozen trades, structural iteration when loads failed, and automated fabrication documentation. Tolerance compliance and model requirements were verified prior to construction using advanced model-based protocols.
